Children Reading the Holy Bible

PROGRAMS

Oakland Education Center

The program, located in Mt. Vernon, serves students from 4th to 12th grade. The program is designed to teach better self-regulation and emotional and behavioral control skills. The program works to create a safe environment for learning and growing. We utilize a point system so students can earn points for “good behavior” and then spend it in our “store”. Social-emotional skills are a priority here, and staff works one-on-one or with groups of kids throughout the day.

Social Emotional Success (SES)

It is designed to teach students social, emotional, and related skills, attitudes, behaviors, and values that enable them to be successful in school.  Self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making are the guiding principles utilized to promote academic and functional success in kindergarten through 4th grade students.
